About Nurture Within Family therapy

Sarah Pace, dedicated professional in perinatal mental health at Nurture Within Family Therapy.

Hi I’m Sarah Pace,

Welcome to my practice. I am a professional dedicated to the field of perinatal mental health. My journey in this specialization began during my licensure trainee hours when I worked closely with infants and their parents using Child-Parent Psychotherapy. This experience ignited my passion for attachment theory and introduced me to the complexities of the perinatal stage.

Through my work with caregivers, I became acutely aware of the need for substantial support and guidance during pregnancy and the postpartum period. I was particularly struck by the scarcity of resources in Orange County for postpartum mental health. Fueled by a desire to make a difference, I sought further training and certification in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International.

Equipped with this knowledge and expertise, I launched my private practice. My focus is on providing support and counseling to those navigating the challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and fertility. As a mother myself, who has personally experienced the perinatal stage and fertility challenges, I understand the importance of support during these transformative times.

My mission is to ensure that no one feels alone during this significant life stage. I am confident that with the right support and guidance, we can navigate these challenges and emerge stronger. My practice stands as a testament to this belief, and I am proud to offer specialized therapy for maternal mental health in California.

getting Started

Starting therapy can be a big step, but it doesn't have to be complicated. Here are some clear steps to help you begin your therapeutic journey:

  1. Schedule a Consultation: The first step is to schedule an initial consultation here. This consultation is an opportunity for us to discuss your needs and for you to get a sense of how I work.

  2. The Consultation: During the consultation, we'll discuss what's been going on for you, what you hope to achieve through therapy, and answer any questions.

  3. Decide to Proceed: If you feel comfortable with me and my approach, the next step is to decide to proceed. This is entirely your decision and there's no pressure to continue if it doesn't feel right for you.

  4. Schedule Your First Session: Once you decide to proceed, we'll schedule your first therapy session. We'll find a time that works for both of us and fits into your routine to ensure consistency.

  5. Begin Your Therapeutic Journey: During our sessions, we'll work together to explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and develop strategies to help you navigate your challenges.

  6. Regular Check-ins: Throughout our work together, we'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our approach as necessary. This ensures that therapy remains effective and responsive to your evolving needs.
